Please pray for my Dad.

On monday January 16th my father was hit by a car while in a gas station parking lot. He was walking to pay for gas when a 16 year old girl backed up into him. He had brain surgery immediately to remove a blood clot and to try and control the bleeding in his brain.They are not giving us a good prognosis and with each passing day his survival rate is declining. They now have him under 50%. He has brain and brain stem damage as well as pneumonia and infections. I believe in the power of prayer. My heart is broken and I cannot even begin to think of him not being here on this earth with us. It`s just killing me. Please I ask for you to pray for Patrick.

Wow it feels like forever since I`ve been online. It took me forever to remember my password to blogger....LOL thats when you know it`s been way too long, well and dust between the keys ;) Hmmmm so whats kept me away...well I ventured out to a full time job last september and by the time I get home and feed hubby and the kids well lets just say the couch calls my name. The upside summers off from work. This past summer hubby and I have taken up kayaking, so we spent alot of time with the girls at the beach. It`s so relaxing I just love it! Although the first time I really didn`t even want to go out on it. I was afraid of the open waters, but now I`m off and running to do it actually lifting and strapping the thing on the roof of car myself. We also did alot of fishing just not alot of catching..LOL Thank God thats not a food source we rely on for survival. Here`s a pic of my youngest and I. I`m looking forward to the nice weather again just to get back out there.

I also missed creating dolls for ebay and thought it time for me to try and get back in the groove, not always an easy thing to do. I listed dolls yesterday and made 2 raggedy Ann`s today. It felt nice being back in front of the sewing machine again creating. I told hubby my goal is to set aside an hour each evening to work on some dolls. I`d be fooling myself if I alloted more time so for now thats what I will set out to do. I don`t know how all you gals do it juggling full time work, creating and families. I too will give it a try and squeak some time in. I`ve missed all my ebay friends too, they must think I`ve just fallen off the face of the earth, well I pretty much did, but I hope to find my way back. I`ve missed you all.

Wow the weather here has been gorgeous and I just love having the windows open and the fresh air flowing in. With Fall moving in starts the new tv line up season. I can`t wait to see Mike and Molly, that looks like it could be a good one. Of course Greys Anatomy will be playing here every thursday night. I can`t wait for that one! A few other of my fav`s are Gary Unmarried, The Adventures of the old Christine and Rules of Engagement.

How about all of you. What are some of the shows your looking forward too? Oh yeah by the way the Extreme Homemakeover that took place a town over from me is scheduled to air on october 3rd for those of you who would like to see it.

Yay it`s friday. So glad the weekend is here. I`m not sure how I will spend it yet, but know that I`ll be sleeping in tomorrow. Can you believe the leaves are already starting to change colors :( Not that I should complain. My friend Nancy lives in Canada and has experienced 35 degree temps and snow. Yup you heard me right....SNOW. Crazy right. So yes I`ll enjoy the changing of the leaves and cooler temps.

With the changing of the leaves so rich and beautiful I decided to create Addie in a great fall homespun dress. She`s more of a prim girl compared to my others, but she too has lots of character.

With the new Country Sampler out got me thinking Christmas. I know I know it`s early we haven`t even gotten to Halloween yet. I was thinking the same thing, but thats whats already on the cover! Each year everything seems to rush along at a faster pace.

I decided to whip up some sets of Primitive star ornies. Although they would look perfect trimming that prim Christmas tree I thought they would look just as charming year round hanging off a cupboard or tucked inside a dough bowl. I listed one set on my ebay and another in my KSGP Shoppe. If you should need more then one set feel free to email me, I`d be more then happy to whip up another set.

Summer is on it`s way out...

I can`t believe we`re wrapping up the summer season. I`m always so sad to see it go. My girls went back to school this week, but are already off today and tomorrow for the jewish holiday. Happy New Year to all of you who are celebrating!

There`s alot of changes that are taking place here. I`m starting a new job this coming week in a school the next town over. It`s only part time and for a monitor position, but given the state of the economy I need to have a steady paycheck and we all know how ebay can go up and down. I`m excited though to be back out and working with people after being home bound for the last 10 years. I also registered to take CNA (certified nursing asst) classes that will begin in February. It will be night classes so thats not to bad. I`ve always wanted to work in the medical field so this will be my first step in that direction. So change is good!

I will still make time to create dolls maybe just not as many, but they`ll still be out there. I just completed this gal. I`m not quite sure yet what her name will be, but you can find her on my ebay this evening. I hope you`ll stop by for a peek. Well off to head outside and enjoy the much cooler temps today. We`re only in the 70`s....ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Why Hilda of course! She made it all this way on her broom. I was surprised she made it through Earl, but the tropical storm that hit didn`t end up being bad at all. Well you know how those weathermen can be ;) She was glad it didn`t hinder her flight.

How exciting to learn that Extreme Home Makeover addition was in our area. Of course I couldn`t pass up taking the girls there to witness the progress. I just wish I could have been a helping hand in the festivities, but it was the same time my parents came to stay with me for 2 weeks from FL.

The lucky family was a 36 year old female who has taken in 6 of her adoptive down syndrome siblings after her parents passed away. She also is a brain cancer survivor. It was amazing to watch the progress and how many helped and how quickly they really do get those homes done. It will be premiering the second week of the new season. I know for sure I`ll be tuning in. I can`t wait to see what the inside looks like. Here`s some pics I took that I`d love to share with you all.

Boy have we been hit with some heat here in our neck of the woods. With summer in mind I decided to whip up some Ice cream Annie`s. I just love these gals and purchased the pattern from Maureen of Sweet Meadows Farm. Oh the ice cream truck memories, I must confess my brother and I could be a pain in the ice cream mans rear. When we felt mischievious we would hide waiting behind bushes to hear the ringing of his bell, when we knew he was just about in front of us we would yell "Hold it". Of course we lay waiting until the coast was clear to come out. The poor guy probably had to endure that a few times throughout his day. Thanks for the memories Brian!

Wow it sure has been quite sometime since I`ve updated my blog. I`m sure I like most of you have been cleaning up the yard and getting the gardens all prettied up for spring. I just noticed today that my peonies are just about ready to open. I can`t wait. Unfortunately they don`t seem to stick around long enough. One really windy day and thats all it takes. Thats why I`m relieved they haven`t opened yet. Today is cool and windy as well. Soon enough that hot sunny weather will be rolling in.

I did manage to create and list 2 angel bust doorgreeters over at my ebay. Well the Americana one will be added this evening. I`m hoping to get started on some more new things tomorrow. I hope when you have a moment you`ll head on over and take a peek.

Aromatherapy Herbal Heat Packs

I`ve decided to add some new creations to my ebay listings. Suffering from muscle and joint pain from time to time due to lupus, I`ve always used herbal heat packs to help calm the aches away. Sooooo I`ve decided to make a few up for other folks whom also suffer from physical pain. They are not just limited to muscle pain and joints, they also help aid in stomach cramps, headaches and nerve pain. They each come with the herbs, Lavendar, Lemongrass, Peppermint, Rosemary and Chamomile.

Happy spring all!! We had a beautiful weekend here. Can you believe I managed to get a little sunburn doing yard work saturday. I can`t believe we`re nearing the end of March, but thats a good thing. I absolutely love spring and all it has to bring.

Wow it feels like forever since I`ve completed a new doll. I`ve decided to welcome in spring with an In the Garden series of dolls. To launch off the series I`ve made Patsie the Pansy. She comes bearing the gift of seeds to plant some pansies in your own garden. Hmmm what flower to make next... I will have to give that some thought. A New Way of Eating....

Hubby and I have decided it`s time to start eating healthy. Not just for weight purposes (although I`d like to drop about 10 pounds, but for overall health. Ya see I`m a big cheese freak so for me that will be the biggest challenge. I`ve decided to go to reduced fat cheeses, mayo`s and sour creams and eventually fat free. We`ve been eating alot of salads and for lunch I only allow myself a lean cuisine sandwich meal. I`m not quite sure how good those really are for you, but we shall see. I highly recommend the chicken philly....YUM :)

I`ve always been good about having veggies with dinners and such so my kids will eat just about any kind except beans. I also want to start weaning out the white potatoes and switch to sweet potatoes. That I know will be tough and the kids.....well not sure how crazy they`ll be with that, but it`s better for them in the long run.

So I thought if we`re going to try and do healthy I`d start with the dogs too :) Especially for Bella being she suffers from dermatitis. So today I ran to home goods bought me some dog cookie cutters and hit the grocery store with recipe for homemade biscuits in hand. Ok today was the first batch I made and they seemed to have liked it. The recipe was real simple. I think for the next one I`ll try one with more ingredients. The dogs gave me two paws up.

Geez if I could just get them to cooperate for a picture.

Heres the recipe for anyone who would like to try these. I found them on recipezaar.com

Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cup rolled oat
1/2 cup powdered milk
1 egg, beaten
5 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
2 jars strained baby food (, any flavor, all natural and no preservatives)
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350 F degrees.
2 In a large bowl combine all ingredients together and make a thick dough.
3 Knead on a slightly floured countertop for about 4 minutes until the dough is nice and smooth.
4 Sprinkle a little more flour over the dough to make rolling easy.
5 Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness.
6 Use cookie cutters or a small drinking glass.
7 Bake on a ungreased cookie sheet for about 22 minute.
8 Let doggie biscuits cool for at least 1/2 hr before serving.
9 To keep fresh, package these in sealed containers.
10 Try different flavors of baby food.
11 Yield- depending on size.

A new addition to the home...

We have added a new furbaby to our home. After looking at this handsome guy three seperate times hubby brought him home friday evening. His name is Junior and he is a 5 month old english mastiff. He was quite timid his first day here, but has warmed up greatly. He just loves to crawl into your lap and cuddle. We haven`t been able to formerly introduce him to Tank and Bella. He has kennel cough and is on antibiotics until it clears. So he is gated in the kitchen in the meantime. Don`t need to get the other 2 sick. He`s doing real well with housebreaking, but I really had no problems with the others either.
Just thought I`d share with you all what has kept me from crafting this week. Well also the kids and hubby being home on winter vacation ;)Hopefully I`ll be back at it monday.

Phew I was able to get one more dollie done and her pictures taken before the snow heads our way. If you would like to take a look at her you may find her on my ebay this evening. Tomorrow is supposed to bring with it 12-18" of snow to our area. I`m hoping the weatherman is wrong again as they were the last time, but if not the cupboards are stocked so no need for me to have to leave the house :) I sure hope the state of VA isn`t getting hit again. I know they had a whammy of snowfall this past week.

If the weathermen are correct it looks like we may be getting 6" of snow friday into saturday. I`m not going to complain as I know other area`s are getting far more then we are here. I just keep humming to myself spring is coming, spring is coming... Oh how I love spring, the fresh air, the sound of birds chirping and the reving sounds of lawn mowers cutting fresh grass. I love watching the blooms break through the ground and start to blossom. Soon enough thats all I keep telling myself. I am like a bear and hibernate during the winter...I just don`t sleep through it although that would be nice..LOL

With much anticipation of spring I created some dolls in springlike colors and themes. They will be on my ebay this evening, but here`s a sneak peek.

I finally sat down and gave some of those bodies life although there are still 10 hanging around. Today I will sit myself down at the table and work on some of them. With the cold temps here they really must be feeling a chill by now ;)

My favorite is the Raggedy Annie with the dog dress. How about you? Do you have a favorite?
I`m not the greatest at taking photos and always feel that I don`t do them justice. I think thats something I need to spend more time working on. Any tips are welcome my way!! :) I would one day love to take some photography classes, although the proper equipment would probably be way to pricey for me, I could still learn some things.

Maybe thats what I need to do.... make me a bucket list. How many of you have bucket lists made? For sure one thing would be to make it to an island and spend a week on the beach. My vacations over the years have consisted of Florida and South Carolina to visit folks. Now don`t get me wrong I love seeing family, but oh a vacation with hubby would be splendid! Ok that just made the top of my bucket list...LOL

I can feel it now sitting and burying my toes in the sand..... Watching the beautiful sea life swim on by..... OK OK back to reality...LOL

I think I`m really going to sit and think about this bucket list and start to create one of my own. I would love to hear of your if you have one!

Bodies Abound.....

My aching fingers. Well here`s what I`ve been working on for the last two days. I usually don`t work in an assembly line system, but figured I`d try it and see how it goes. You feel like your getting no where fast and boy can the stuffing part really be a killer. It took me a full day just to stain and paint these guys. Next onto some clothes and personalities.

Oh and lastly an FYI..... Something I wouldn`t have thought of until it happened to us. My daughters said something smelt bad in thier room. I went in, didn`t see anything and walked backed out. I told hubby it does smell in there, but I don`t see anything. A minute later my daughter comes walking out with this...

Now let me explain......Without my knowledge my daughter put her nerf ball on the bulb so the dog couldn`t get it, later on went in her room and hung out for a bit. Well you know the rest...... A reminder to tell the young ones to NEVER place anything on the light bulbs!

Pray for those in Haiti

The devastation that has rocked Haiti has left me almost speechless. My heart aches for all the people who are experiencing their worst nightmare. I couldn`t imagine such a blow. To see the images flash across the screen brings tears to my eyes.

Tradegy always brings the best out in others who aren`t living in the middle of that moment. One of those people is Annie of Glitteryourworld just one person trying to help make a difference in life of many others. Here`s what Annie has to say

I couldn`t resist and have been blessed this week with many auctions ending in sales. I don`t have much raising four girls and living by the week paycheck,but I knew I could manage the 10 dollars. If it helps one child even with covering the cost of antibiotics my heart is full.
I can`t even begin to imagine the suffering of the haitians. I as a parent couldn`t imagine having to sit by and watch my child suffer or even die do to lack of medicines as simple as an antibiotic or dehydration. I pray for them all and hope they continue to pull people out alive. I was watching Anderson Cooper last night and was so saddened to see how doctors and nurses had been ordered to just abandon injured and critical people. I`m complete in my heart if $10.00 saves someone.

Well the last couple days I`ve been back at the sewing machine at a steady pace. You know there`s alot of catching up to do after Christmas. The holiday leaves, but for some reason the bills keep coming...LOL and more of them I might add :-(

I just listed a doll on my ebay that is true to my heart. A girl and her best friend. There`s no greater gift then that furry friend. Yup you guessed it the dog! They don`t speak our language, but manage to give and show love sometimes way more then humans do. They are the most loyal beings and just happy with a pat on the back. So I`ve decided it was time for me to create one for my doll.

Funny though, as she was completed my daughter sat down at the table and started to sketch out my doll on paper and said she wanted it travel with the doll to it`s new home. She is so darn cute!Hmmmm a doll maker in the making?????

Ok with all this talk of poochies I must share a pic of mine just loving the snow!

Something tells me it`s going to be a L O N G trick or treating day with the girls.Hopefully the rain will hold out. Right now it`s quite dreary out there, but mild. So I guess thats the plus side we surely won`t be cold. It`s strange to see how some years your out there freezing your tush off and other years you can go out without a coat on. You never can tell.

Well I`ve been back at it again full force. With the holidays quickly approaching and kiddies to make happy at Christmas time I must keep these fingers stitchin`. With the economy the way that it is I`am grateful for each and every bid that I receive. If it`s only one I`m still doing my thankful happy dance. I have been looking for work outside the home, but haven`t had success yet. In the meantime I`ll be sitting here in front of my sewing machine stitchin` the day away :)

Diet time for Bella

Bella`s just sitting around taking a load off....LOL It seems that she needs to be cut back from all the eating she`s been doing. Although I love her pudgie lil self to keep her healthy we`ve had to cut her feedings back just a bit. Believe it or not she probably weighs more then my Tank right about now and he`s a bullmastiff. Ok now he is on the slimmer side which is good for him being he has hip dysplasia. I wonder if the food I switched her to has anything to do with it.......HMMMMM Ya see she has dermatitis so she is on natures balance food for allergies. All seriousness though we may also take her in to get her thyroid checked. It`s funny I think we take better care of our dogs then we do ourselves.

If anyone out there is looking to adopt mastiff`s here`s a site worth looking into:

Isn`t he just the sweetest thing. His eyes just seem to speak to you. Ok as you can see I have a love for mastiffs of any kind. I`ve been looking up rescues on the web and keep going back to him daily to see if he`s still there. The poor thing seems to have been abused and has heartworm according to his story. The really strange this is his name is Buddy Boy..... Just like mine that recently passed from lymphoma. I would never want Buddy to think I was replacing him. I sure do hope this fella finds a home soon as he`s tugging on my heartstrings....BIG TIME!

Well I finally have gotten myself back in the groove. It seems like forever since I have created anything on the sewing machine. Since the opening of the KSGP website I`ve been back at it again. A huge Loss

Yesterday was the day that I have dreaded since I first learned Buddy had lymphoma. He took a drastic turn tuesday night and we had to bring him into the vet. I have such an emptiness inside. I`m thankful for being able to do nothing, but lay in the grass with him for 2-1/2 hrs. I love you Buddy and will miss you everyday!

For all your prayers. He is hanging in there and fighting pretty hard, but clearly it has taken quite a toll. His lymph nodes have continued to grow rather large in his neck, but he is still eating and I thank God for that.

On a lighter note I wanted to share a picture of my bloomed bleeding hearts. I was so excited to see them return this year.

The weather here has been beautiful the last few days. It`s like we skipped over spring and summer arrived although the next couple of days with be in the 60`s. I hope spring has sprung in all your areas too.

Some exciting news from KSGP. We have embarked on a new adventure and are opening up a website where you will find quality handmade goodies from all the sisters. My heart is broken.....

I just received the news I was dreading to hear for the last 2 weeks. Buddy has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of lymphoma. My heart is broken and I feel like I have been kicked in the stomach. He`s 3-1/2 years old and has brought so much joy to all of us. I cannot even think of him not being here with us, but know that it is inevitable. Please pray for him to be pain free. We love him very much.

I`ve decided to participate in a CCD challenge. The theme being Fairy Tales/ Nursery Rhymes. I made Little Red Riding Hood. She is made from cloth and clay. It`s seems with ebay being sooooo slow for me I had lost my drive to put my hands to work so it was fun to work on her. I may do another. Here`s a peek at her and I plan to list her on ebay tonight. Hopefully she will find herself a new home.

Irish Nachos....

1 bag waffle fries (20-24-ounces)
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
1 pound deli-sliced corned beef, chopped ( I used simmered corned beef)
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1/2 small head green cabbage, thinly sliced (about 2 cups)
Salt and ground black pepper
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup light beer
1 cup chicken stock
1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
PreparationPre-heat oven to 450ºF.

Arrange the waffle fries on a baking sheet and cook according to package directions, adding about 10 minutes onto the baking time to make them extra crispy.

When the fries have about 10 minutes left, place a medium skillet over medium-high heat with 2 turns of the pan of EVOO, about 2 tablespoons. Add the corned beef to the skillet and sauté until light golden brown and heated through, 2-3 minutes.

Add the onions and cabbage to the pan, and cook until the onions have softened and cabbage has wilted, 4-5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and reserve warm.

While the veggies are cooking, place a medium pot over medium-high heat and melt the butter. Add the flour to the pot and cook for about a minute.

Whisk the beer into the mixture and cook for about 30 seconds to cook off the alcohol. Whisk the chicken stock into the pan and bring up to a bubble. Simmer until thickened, 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in the cheese to melt. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.

To serve, arrange the crispy waffle fries on a platter, top them with the corned beef and cabbage mixture and douse with a good helping of cheese sauce.

Playing with paints...

Well I`ve decided to try something new. I`ve been playing with acrylic and canvas. I really enjoy it. It seems to relax me that in it`s self is worth it! This is my second one I have done. Ok I`m not a football fan so it`s been a normal sunday for me. Spent the day cleaning, packaging up things for the post office, taking pictures of my newest creations and then the dreadful listing of them all.Whoops just looked up and noticed I almost forgot one! I really must confess....I HATE THAT PART. Especially when tonight I got booted off 3 times with my final listing....argh!

It was a beautiful day out today and I did get to enjoy the sunshine while running a few errands. Boy I really can`t wait for spring to arrive. My favoritest season of them all.

I started to play with paint and some canvas and so far I`m liking how it looks. Not bad for my first piece. I was inspired by one of Jane`s paintings of grittyjane. I will hang it in my family room oncee it`s complete. I still have many parts to finish.

Ok well here are my newest dollies for this week. I had fun making another cloth and clay doll.

Phew is it a bone chillin day today. Well theres an upside to that it kept me indoors and at work! I started these two girls:

Well this gal sat on a table in my bedroom faceless for the past year just begging me to give her some life. Does anyone else do that? Once you walk away from it for more then a few days.....it gets forgotten about? Well anyways yesterday I put her on my working table and finally gave her what she`s been waiting for! I must say I really think she just became one of my favorites! Her eyes just seem to talk to you. Can you hear her too? ;)

I will be getting her listed on ebay tonight. Ok let me go while I`m in the mood to create........

Bella`s 1st birthday.....

and for her present she was gifted a visit to the vet....LOL Poor thing she has dermatitis so needed more meds and also is in the midst of a false pregnancy so wanted to make sure everything was ok. See thats what happens when you don`t get them fixed before their first heat...LOL

After the vet visit and her steroid shot it was a good day. She celebrated with Buddy and Tank. The cake of choice was apple pie. I forgot to pick up a girlie hat today so I had to cover an old one with fabric and tinsel purchased from Annie of iblur:

How lucky am I.....

I`am a member of the ebay group Rags to Riches dolls (r2rd) and was so excited that my name was unveiled in a drawing. Many generous members donated prizes and I was lucky enoughy to receive the most amazing pin cushion doll and candle from Jackie of
Plain-n-simple
Her quality of work is nothing, but the best!! I can`t wait to be able to own another of her creations. I will be keeping my eye on her auctions for sure! Thank you again Jackie and she will always be treasured :)Hugs,Kelly

Starfish and Seahorses....

I just finished playing a bit. I`m not sure what I will do with them, but it was nice to make something different fo a change. I used Annie`s of blur-babiescopper glass glitter on the starfish and just loved it! I love how fine it is. Excellent quality and will be back for more. I can`t wait to play around with my pink and night sky colored ones .Hmmmmmmm what to do next ;)

Under the Boardwalk......

Well I`ve been feeling less the energized when working on some of my dolls and felt the need to do something different for a change. So today I sketched up and sewed a few of these fella`s.

The inspiration for these came from the desire to re do my bedroom over into the beach/ cottage theme. I`m hoping maybe after making a few of these it will head me into that direction ;)
To me there`s no more relaxing place to be then sitting on the beach under beautiful blue skies.......

Please remember to pray for our soldiers and keep them close at heart during the holiday season.

Holy Cow! Can you believe theres only 12 more days until Christmas!! That doesn`t leave alot of shopping time left. Which I still have alot to do. On the upside I have aready wrapped the things that I bought so atleast that part is done! I`m always scrambling at the last minute, so nothing new there...LOL
I haven`t gotten much sewing in, but have managed to complete 2 black dolls. I think after these two I will start something new. Kinda feel like I`m stuck in a doll rutt...LOL
